  • 🎬 Video
  • ℹ️ Description

In glitzy and prosperous Hong Kong, thousands live in conditions deemed an “insult to human dignity”. Low-income residents who can't keep up with soaring property prices have no choice but to cram into homes barely bigger than a coffin or wire cage. More than 200,000 Hongkongers survive in the cramped and squalid conditions of so-called coffin houses and cage homes.

#RT #Documentary offers you in-depth documentary films on topics that will leave no one indifferent. It’s not just front-page stories and global events, but issues that extend beyond the headlines. Social and environmental issues, shocking traditions, intriguing personalities, history, sports and so much more – we have documentaries to suit every taste. RTD’s film crews travel far and wide to bring you diverse and compelling stories. Discover the world with us!

This is sobering. Everyone deserves to live and die with dignity no matter how much you have in your bank account.

Chu Pan Fei's story is a real eye-opener. I hope he gets to experience true happiness or fulfillment sometime before it's too late.

" _I'll take 18 circles of Hell and never come back_ ...." My heart breaks for this poor wretched soul ( *Chu Pan Fei* )... I wish someone had told him that he matters + that his life has value, and that he is worthy of love. May his soul find peace + love one day in the great beyond.

And you wonder why theres so much unrest in Hong Kong. Imagine living in such dismal conditions while rich people are living so comfortably. Its absurd humanity is so lost.

At least the restaurant managers have a heart, not calling the police on them sleeping on their premises imaging sleeping at the local Macdonald here in the USA you go to jail

The older man that was never married and lost his mom, his story literally broke my heart and choked me up in tears. Really got me think about the things I have in my life and how fortunate to even have a decent roof over my head. Sigh. I pray and pray that the days ahead are peaceful for him and that he will be healthy.

It makes me feel so grateful for my 1, 000 sq foot trailer. There's 4 of us living in 3 beds 2 baths and we really could use more room but in all reality we're ok with it. We have a place to call home, safe, quiet and we work and save money for a nicer place. My heart goes out to these people living like this and working so hard to stay in such a small uncomfortable place. It makes me really feel like my biggest problems are so small compared to what other people are going through.

Some of these "homes" look worse than most prisons, I feel sad for good people that have to live there. Something in HOng Kong has to change.

This was actually heartbreaking to watch. So eye opening. I think my farmhouse where I live with my parents is boring and dull, and the WiFi is super slow. But we have lots of space to freely move around in. Made me realise just again how lucky I actually am. These poor, poor people. ☹️😢
