Strade Bianche 2016 was an all time race featuring a star studded line up, including Peter Sagan, Fabian Cancellara, Greg van Avermaet, Michal Kwiatkowski, Alejandro Valverde and Vincenzo Nibali. The last 40km saw the breakaway containing Brambilla reeled in, then Sagan attack with Stybar on his well and Cancellara chasing. A fantastic finale ensued with the climb up to the piazza at Siena, with Cancellara going full beast mode in the last 15 km, particularly the last 2km.

Show the "Strade Bianche" from Giro where Cadel wins. When those roads get water it is a harder race then Paris - Roubaix

Interesting insight: my father did taxes at that time for Vakoč and naturally, as we're cycling nuts as well, he (my father) asked Vakoč all about the race. He was SAD that he wasn't in the right position when Sagan attacked and the breakaway formed. Vakoč literally said, and i quote: "I'm 100% sure that i'd beat Cancellara that day."
Apparently he had the best legs so far up to that point in his career. After all, he finished 5th, "winning" the second group fight, so he was feeling pretty good.

Cheers! Great video as always!

I think if you're looking for a good Strade Bianche to look at, I would suggest the 2018 one, where Tiesj Benoot won. It was the first time I think we really saw Wout Van Aert performing on the road, and Benoot's attack was a really exciting one to watch.
