Ukraine is the buyer of the first Bayraktar Akinci combat drone made by Baykar Turkey

  • 🎬 Video
  • ℹ️ Description
Turkey's Baykar has exported the first model of its latest drone, the Bayraktar Akıncı unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV).
"We have also completed the first export contract of Bayraktar Akıncı UCAV. Within the scope of the contract, we will deliver Bayraktar Akıncı UCAVs and ground systems in 2023,” Baykar General Manager Haluk Bayraktar disclosed this to government-owned Anadolu Agency (AA) Sunday.
He did not specify the country to which the Akinci drone was exported, neither the number of drones or its value. However, pointers are that Ukraine, which supplies engines to the Akinci drone, may well be the first customer of the new drone given its current stand-off with Russia.

Biorąc pod uwage wojnę na Ukrainie to Polska ktora ma mizerne sily lotnicze powinna w trybie ekspresowym dokupic do naszych juz posiadanych tureckich dronów co najmniej z 50 szt .kolejnych .

The Drone looks actually really nice, also the wing-design is cool. And the engine 2:31, how cool is that. You can see the sequential turbocharger. The boost from the first turbocharger is used to spool the second sequential turbocharger on the bottom right. What an engine design for a small drone

With its sleek, swan-like profile this Bayraktar Akinci drone is just a beautiful aircraft to behold. It certainly packs a serious wallop with that wide array of ordnance that it brings to the table An armed drone such as the Bayraktar Akinci that is capable of flight durations of nearly 24 hours constitutes an unseen yet ever-present threat to ground troops and their equipment. Turkey is now a major player in the warfare drone market not far behind Israel, the USA, and China.

If Ukraine has indeed purchased some Bayraktar Akinci drones, Russia's invading armored columns stand to lose quite a few more combatants over the coming days and weeks, as that sneaky eye in the sky loiters above the Ruskie swarms dispensing frontier justice to unsuspecting targets of opportunity.

This is probably as close to a manned fighter bomber as you can get.
Looks like it can carry a combined internal and external payload of a bit over 2 tons which is a lot.
As the first customer and actively field it in combat, not only should Ukraine be getting an interesting capability, this will also be an interesting test and a tremendous amount of data regarding its performance and whether it meets objectives.

The most important feature of Bayraktar tb2 and Akıncı is that they are not caught on the radar. You can't hit an invisible item, but it tracks you and can hit you.

Interesting. I think Turkish drones were demonstrated well by the Azerbaijani MoD. They're effective.

It is funny, how much use those Bairaktar drones got in now ongoing russia-Ukraine war. And how much dread and fear they are producing, despite their relatively small number. They are a major psychologic war factor in this war agains russian Nazi. Long live Ukraine! And thanks Turkey for their so needed support during all those years. You know your friends in the hour of need.
