The sandbags is for preventing further corrosion of the coastline. There is no seal evel rising. Mismanagement is the cause of the wrong settlements. Not rising sea levels.

Fantasy story not journalism. Your "report" is a joke. This looks like it was specially prepared for your climate lockdown narrative and overlords. 👎

I live here in Cape Town so I can categorically tell u, this update is nonsense. People come from rural areas and erect shacks in the worst possible places just so the government can provide houses for them as it is a basic human right, they then rent out these free houses, go back to where they came from because they have big homes there and collect the rent whilst not having to work. They rent these free houses to foreigners from other African countries that come to South Africa looking for employment. They will even erect shacks on ur front lawn if u were not looking and there's not a thing u can do until they together with their many kids can be relocated to a proper housing arrangement. The law protects them because nobody should be homeless especially kids so clearly some people have found a gaping loophole to enjoy.

I don't see the connection between tearing down a slum and sea-level rise.

Wait, back in 1990 I saw a documentary about the find of Chinese pottery from 1500 on canada's westcoast it was all 1m below the shore line because the sea level was 1m lower 500 yrs ago, the rise in sea levels has been going on for a while.
