We want to say THANK YOU to our main sponsors

Sponsored our van insurance for the EU and have paid for our Travel Insurance so we stay safe on the road. They provide cover for all campers and motorhomes and specialise in insurance for custom (self build) vans so if you have built your own or have a van or motorhome yourself then give them a call. We also use them for our own house insurance. The good news is as a Tread the Globe follower you get a preferential rate so give them a call (quote TREAD the Globe)

Great video. Driving in Istanbul is a nightmare. I'm an overlander too, currently living in Istanbul because of this virus. Good to see it from your perspective. :D

Hello. Here from Sarah and Luca’s video... I am looking forward to getting to Istanbul one day. I have heard so many wonderful things about it. You are super fortunate to get that lockdown spot. Take care!

Me in the beginning: oh he films and drives at the same time... 2:20: Oh... The wheel is on the other side 🤣🇬🇧

Hi from Scotland, gasped a few times at the traffic during your vlog, thanks for sharing.

I'm actually surprised you drove so well. because it is very difficult to drive a car in Istanbul.

Which district of Istanbul are you in? Switch to the Anatolian side, it is calmer. At the moment, so many people shouldn't be out. God, it's too crowded. Take care :)

Edit: As far as I watched, this video was shot before the virus outbreak, so I'm guessing that not so many people are out there right now.

"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" :) Yes, in İstanbul, driving that big vehicle, in the most crowded and busy area and as a foreigner for the first time driving there.. you succeded a big job and you're much more stronger now :) Congratulations.

OMG, for the TTG Drinking Game you should have started the video by saying "lovely" and "actually" 10 times each. Watching Marianne navigate through the traffic was stressful!! Marianne handled the traffic like a boss, so impressed!

BTW, I love the way Chris adds "love" to the end of every comment or suggestion for Marianne. That is next level husband skills, I took notes. :)

As a Turk i don't drive in İstanbul. Cause it's too crowded. And everybody hurry for something. In general better use main roads not small city streets roads.

Loved this. The roads in the city look crazy but kind of fun at the same time!
